Adrenaline Rush Student Ministries has an array of committed Youth Leaders. This portion of our youth ministry pages is for you to get to know them a little bit better.
Bradley Travis
Bradley Travis has been a Youth Leader at Adrenaline Rush for about a year and a half now. He is very personable and he loves working with teenagers. Bradley was born in Louisville, KY, but he has lived most of his life in Taylorsville, KY, a small community just outside of Louisville. Bradley came to know Jesus when he was 12 years old at a camp retreat for teens. Bradley puts it this way: “The gentlemen who hosted the camp had us all gather around a campfire one night. It was there he told us about Jesus Christ and how we could be saved. Later that night I felt strongly in my heart that I needed to accept Jesus Christ into my life. Believe it or not to get some privacy, I prayed the ’salvation prayer’ on my knees in a camp bathroom stall a few hours later.” Bradley says some of his hobbies are: “Reading Scripture and Christian-based books, so I can deepen and better my walk with the Lord. I also play basketball when I have the time.” Bradley is also currently studying Theology at Campbellsville University and plans on going into some type of full-time ministry in the future.
Valerie is both a Youth Leader and our primary Worship Leader for “Adrenaline Rush” Student Ministries. She has volunteered and helped with the youth ministry for almost two years now and she is an extremely valuable part of our team. Valerie was born in Owensboro, KY, but she has lived all over the state (Providence, Bowling Green, Moganfield, and Hopkinsville). Valerie is not just a Worship Leader at “Adrenaline Rush”, she is also on the adult Worship Team and she teaches at Cornerstone Academy, the school affiliated with Eastside Praise. In essence, she is heavily involved in a variety of areas at Eastside Praise. Some of Valerie’s hobbies are reading, writing, photography, and music. Music is an integral part of Valerie’s life. In fact, Valerie is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree from Liberty University in Worship Studies. Valerie received the Lord into her heart when she was 13 and it is because she strongly believes in the value of discipleship that she works with teenagers. As Valerie puts it: “In my generation, there seemed to be little emphasis on discipleship and relationship and a lot of emphasis on ‘the rules’. I remember being a teen thinking, ‘Okay…I’m a Christian. So, now what?!’”
Trevon was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, but he has been a Kentucky resident most of his life (What was he thinking, right?!). Trevon began to take his relationship with the Lord seriously during his middle school years, but he says, “For as long as I can remember, I always knew about Jesus.” Trevon likes playing basketball and eating (just about anything – just hold the beans and coleslaw). He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Business in 2006 and is currently working in finance. Trevon is a self-described big kid himself and says that working with the teens at Eastside Praise reminds him of his time with his nephews and nieces: “I have several nephews and nieces (who are teenagers and younger) in Hawaii. Its a great feeling to know that I can provide a positive, Christian example that they can look up to when I visit them. The same feelings also come when I work with the teenagers at Eastside.” Trevon is dearly loved and appreciated by all the teenagers as well as the Youth Leaders!
